Bilingual and multilingual websites. In Irish, English, or any language your customers speak.

A site in more than one language only works if every language stays right. Webseer tracks each page in each language, so none falls behind.

Doing it well. What matters more than the number of languages.

Who needs more than one language

Businesses that welcome visitors from abroad: B&Bs, hotels, restaurants and tours. Businesses whose customers or staff speak another language at home. And any business that wants to be in Irish as well as English.

Irish on your site

Public bodies have duties under the Official Languages Acts. For a private business, Irish is a choice, and one many customers notice. Start with the pages people read most, and keep both languages in step.

Translate what matters first

The home page, your services or menu, prices, opening hours and how to get in touch. A page half translated reads worse than one left in English, so publish a language page by page, when each is done.

Keep translations in step

The hard part is not the first translation; it is the tenth change to the English after it. Each translation should be marked out of date the moment its source changes, so someone knows to update it.

A person reads it

A machine draft is a fine start. Someone who speaks the language should read anything a customer will rely on: prices, times, what is included.

Tell search engines

Each language should have its own address, and each page should say which other languages it is in, so search engines show people the version in their language.

How Webseer does it

Every page, form, picture description and piece of site text has a state in each language: up to date, out of date or missing. Seer writes first drafts as suggestions for a person to accept, and a language goes live only when you publish it.

Questions, answered.

Something else? hello@rotomic.ie

Yes. Irish is one of the languages a Webseer site can be written in, beside English or any other.

As many as your customers speak. Each one is tracked page by page.

Your own staff, a translator you invite, or Seer as a first draft that a person checks. Many sites use a mix.
